ABOUT THE AUTHOR

On November 17th, 2014 when I walked into Hines Middle School in Virginia, I had no idea how my entire life would change afterwards. Ms. Staton, the lead math teacher read my first book, saw a few of my Youtube videos and reached out to ask if I could speak to her 6th and 7th grade math class. I gratefully accepted but deep down I was apprehensive. Why?

Up until that day, I had never been in front of that many young adults at one time. In October of the previous year, I retired from a career filled with training, speaking and advising all types of people, but they were always adults. As I was in the process of completing my 1st year as an author, speaker and consultant, I had spoken to audiences from New York City all the way to The Netherlands but on that day, I had more butterflies in my stomach than ever before. In the back of my mind,the last thing I wanted to do was be compared to any of their “boring” classes, but my intentions were to create a ripple that would have a generational impact during our brief time together. I simplified my approach and had a constructive conversation with the 60 eager minds who watched my every movement during our time together. The rest is history.

Not only did I get invited back several times to work with Hines Middle School (Thank You Letter from the Principal) but I also canceled most of my professional engagements for the following year and spoke to over 100 elementary, middle and high schools across the country. The year 2015 changed how I looked at our world completely.

Throughout the questions and comments in the diverse communities where I connected with these students of all ages, races and ethnicities, I noticed something very peculiar. In all actuality, adults and children are both looking for the same thing.

Each human simply absorbs the information collected from their environment and does the best they can to get closer to “their definition of happiness” every day. Based on a child’s environment, the type of adult they become, is an inevitable effect of their upbringing. This ongoing cycle is responsible for our humanity’s condition. Where did our humanity get its rules from?

As I have been able to continuously reflect, re-create and reestablish a stronger connection with myself, the wonders of nature and the mysteries of our Solar System have had a huge impact on the last few years of my personal development. I have noticed that as I have detached more from the elements that were manifested through human intelligence, I have been able to soak so much up from the elements that were here way before humans existed. The plants, flowers, stars, planets, and many other miracles of life have so many lessons to teach us if we are open to receive.

This journey with Lil Solar that you are about to embark upon is just one of the many gifts that has been channeled through my stronger connection with something we are all equally a part of……

The Universe.
